Welcome to the Garden

Posted by Gary Dzen, Boston.com Staff May 14, 2008 04:59 PM

Welcome to the Garden, where the Boston Celtics will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers at 8 p.m. The second-round NBA playoff series between the teams is tied, 2-2.

Ray Allen walked out onto the parquet at 4:52 p.m. In black shorts and a cutoff Celtics T-shirt, he is the first Celtic to get his shooting in before every game.

Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis walked out a few minutes after Allen and did some shooting on the other end. Davis and Allen are the only two players on the court right now.

It’s quiet besides that. Not a single scalper was selling tickets in front of the Garden at 4:30 p.m. ESPN’s Rachel Nichols is next to the court, getting ready to do a stand-up on camera. Not much else to report, yet.

  • The Celtics have created a new promo for the Jumbotron featuring Laurence Maroney. The Pats running back urges fans to stand up and cheer for the fourth quarter.

We’ll be back in a bit when more players start showing up and we have something a little more interesting to share.
