  1. Ray Allen made it rain in Game 6 so I'm sure rain will not make a difference.

  1. have you checked the weather forecast? It isn't supposed to rain...a SLIGHT possibility of a shower...won't stop me!!!

  1. If it is like the sox parade it will run right past the common and probably end up in the Charles, you can watch it from almost anywhere

  1. rolling rally should be starting at the garden and head towards copley square

  1. I don't know where the parade will start, but it always ends in City Hall. The parade always pass thru Copley and park street.

    Go Celtics!

  1. jay from jersey - the parades usually start in back bay some where but bet to hang out by city hall plaza where they normally end up, have speeches, music (andhuge crowds) etc. THeyoften come down state street (from cambrudge st side) then go down Congress St to City Hall Plaza

  1. I plan to attend the parade, please post the location here and let us know.. Thank you so much.

  1. I work on Newbury St. so I hope they come down Boylston.

  1. Oh goodie, a parade. So more drunk fans can make life miserable, like the ones last night joyriding up Beacon Street from 1 to 2 A.M., honking their horns and screaming and yelling. Why can't Boston sports fans celebrate without getting drunk and obnoxious?

  1. i wonder if they'll show it on lyke espn or something i'd love to see it!

Posted by noname June 18, 08 08:21 AM
  1. I wonder how they are going to do the parade. Usually they end up at city hall plaza, but the phantom gourmet bbq beach party is set up starting today through the weekend. There won't be any room for the Celtics celebration.

  1. Is it gonna come all around New England like the Red Sox did in '04? Because I'm up in Portland and don't think I can make it to Boston.

Posted by John June 18, 08 08:26 AM
  1. My guess is that it will start at the Garden move up through Government Center, down Tremont Street past Park Street and then down Boylston, ending in Copley Square. With the BBQ and the close proximity of the Garden and City Hall Plaza, I doubt it will be ending there.

Posted by Mark June 18, 08 08:39 AM
  1. IT will probable start at TDBankNorth Garden and travel a main thoroughfare towards Boston Common and then on Copley Square. Cambridge STreet or Tremont is a good bet for the route. Maybe even Beacon going past the State House.

This is not a Boston thing. It's a sports fan thing. And it sucks no matter where you live.

    "even tho its ganna rain?"
Also, the weather was crappy the day of the Sox first parade. If you can't handle a little rain, please, do us all a favor, and stay home. And learn how to spell.

  1. So the start time is 11am. I am coming from Stamford, CT and can't leave until 10am. Is the parade a half day event? If I take off, will there still be something to see by the time I get there, which will prolly be around 1pm. Thanks.

  1. It's going to start at the Garden, go down Causeway Street and connect onto Tremont passing the Boston Common and turning onto Boylston Street and ending at Copley Square.

  1. This one's going to be backwards from the usual route. It's going to start at the Garden and end up in Copley Square. They can't do anything at City Hall Plaza because the Phantom Gourmet BBQ Beach Party started there yesterday and runs until Sunday.

  1. There is a BBQ event set up on the Government Center plaza. They have fenced off the entire area. Are the planners aware of this? It's right outside their window, but they took yesterday off (Bunker Hill Day).

  1. First of all there is always room for the celtics no stupid beach party is going to ruin the parade..Sucks that i can't go, will be working at that time, but the parade mostly starts around back bay and down city hall around there..Nd no it doesnt tour around new england only boston!!

Posted by Dee June 18, 08 09:38 AM
  1. Gotta do it on Saturday so those of us who work and/or live out of town can enjoy it too!!!

  1. will there be live online coverage...I am in Florida but would like to see it@

  1. I am sure the parade route will go straight down Boylston. Like the Red Sox. I work on the street and we are already making accomodations. I would say if you come into boston for it you should go down Boylston St. a few blocks before the common... the common will most likely be PACKED. I would suggest parking outside of the city and taking the T in (to Copley). Exciting!

Posted by Ann June 18, 08 09:43 AM
  1. Parade will probably be on Boylston and Tremont, and end at City Hall Plaza.

  1. From what I heard this parade is not going to end at City Hall. I heard it was going to start at the Garden and end in Copley Sq.

  1. Sorry Dave, Menino didn't "wait" this time. These parades take a few weeks of prep, so the city offices plan any parade well before any win. The only reason it made the news for the pats was someone thought parades can happen on 2 hours notice and was surprised they actually needed planning...

  1. city hall plaza will be off limits as an event is already setup there running thru the weekend. Anticipate a rally ending at the Boston common as that is the only place left in the city to handle he crowds

  1. The parade won't stop at City Hall, the Phantom Gourmet BBQ is going on this week.

  1. Some people don't seem to really know what "drunk and obnoxious" fans really are. I am from Greece myself and when we won the European Soccer Cup in 2004 the whole country was on FIRE. People and sports fans here are pretty nice as my car was not smashed or turned over like some other countries.

Plus.....LET THEM BE!!!! IT HAS BEEN 22 YEARS MAN!!!

you're an idiot. This is Boston. This is what we do, it's who we are and its what we are about. Go move to LA and be a Lakers fan there wont be a parade there. I dont know why your'e so shocked about a parade... we have them everytime a sports team wins around here, why would it be any different for basketball? Also WHAT DO YOU EXPECT?!?! The celtics havent won since 1986- its time to celebrate!

TO the REAL fans of Boston teams:
I doubt the city of Boston would every have the parade on a saturday seeing how way more people would be able to go and they usually do show the parade live on TV but I think its just on local network stations.
