Video profiles: Giddens & Walker

Posted by Chris Forsberg, Boston.com Staff June 27, 2008 08:43 AM

With an assist to our friends over at NECN, here are video profiles on two of the players acquired by the Celtics during last night's NBA Draft.

With the 30th and final pick of the first round, the Celtics selected New Mexico guard JR Giddens. The team then traded cash considerations to the Wizards in exchange for Bill Walker, Washington's second-round selection (47th overall).

The Celtics wrapped up their night by selecting 7-foot-1 center Semih Erden, who played for Fenerbahce Ulker of Turkey, with the 60th overall pick.

Check out the videos below for more on Giddens and Walker.

  1. Semih Erden is his name. Fenerbahce Ulker is the team for which he played in Turkey. Not that he'll be in Boston any time soon.......

  1. Fenerbache Ulker seems to be the name of a team in Turkey. Both of their centers are 7'1". Do you happen to have any information on which one of them it is?

  1. Fans in Boston are going to love JR Giddens. You have no idea yet what you've got. His coming of age in NM playing for Steve Alford was shocking. He is a major league talent but he is also a great teammate. You guys will realize soon enough that Ainge and Rivers (again) made a superb selection. Go Celts!

  1. Celtics fans will not be disappointed with JR. He is NBA worthy and will do the defending champs nothing but good next season! Watch out opponents. It has been a pleasure watching JR the last few years at UNM and I know he will do us proud just as Danny Grainger has in the NBA!!! Go LOBOS and Go Celtics!
