C's dubbed 'Best Team'

The Celtics' championship celebration tour rolled into Los Angeles Wednesday night, where the Green were honored with the "Best Team" award during a taping of the ESPY Awards at the Nokia Theatre (which, ironically, sits in the shadow of the Staples Center, home of the Los Angeles Lakers, who the Celtics topped in the NBA Finals).

Among the attendees for the Celtics: Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, Kendrick Perkins, Glen "Big Baby" Davis, Leon Powe, Brian Scalabrine, Gabe Pruitt, Sam Cassell, and James Posey (who, earlier in the day, inked a four-year deal with the New Orleans Hornets).

The NBA-champion Boston Celtics have won the team award at the 16th annual ESPY Awards in Los Angeles.
The awards were presented Wednesday night, and the show airs Sunday at 9 p.m. EDT on ESPN.

The Celtics won an unprecedented 17th title in June with a victory over the LA Lakers. The Celtics went 66 and 16 in the regular season.

I think they are all reacting to Ray Allen's "Wow, ANOTHER win in Los Angeles..." quip.

All the suits KG bought the team in Italy are really getting their use, but it's too bad that Pierce's "Free Bowl of Soup With That" Hat isn't in the picture

THE CELTICS ARE THE BEST TEAM OF THE YEAR IN SPORTS, MAYBE IN MANY...LOOK HOW BAD THEY WERE LAST YEAR AND HOW FAST THEY CAME BACK AND WON A CHAMPIONSHIP..NOBODY EXPECTED IT AND THEY MIGHT WIN ANOTHER ONE OR TWO, IF THEY CAN KEEP THE SAME GUYS ON THE TEAM..EVEN WITH LOSS OF POSEY---A MAJOR MISTAKE LETTING HIM GO, THE C'S WILL STILL HAVE A CHANCE OF REPEATING AGAIN...

yeah, they still got a great chance to repeat even with the loss of posey, but we still need to go out and get another player rlike childress or barnes. Im glad they got the award, they defi itley deserved it 66 wins and an nba title. The giants were great for upsetting my pats, but they werent the best team, it was a fluke and they got lucky that no offensive lineman on my pats know what the concept of a damn block iS! anyway, we will see a 3pt in boston this year in succession, sox will win now, then the pats will win, and then the celts will win banner 18. CELTICS HOOHAH CELTICS HOOHAH CELTICS HOOHAH, 1-2-3 UNBUNTU! GO CELTICS 2008 NBA CHAMPS ANY MANY MORE TO COME!

I guess this is OK, but what was the crieteria? I mean, how does one compare the NY Giants to the Tennessee women's basketball team?

hey you know who deserves the award more then the celtics... the miami heat. i mean really, they won eleven games, so who ever lost to them sucks more then the miami heat. and also you see how for the last games they didn't even have a coach. because they're coach was scouting instead. you now another team that deserves it is... wait... haha, the nyk. they should have won the award. well none of those teams won, because they suck, but you can still mak a case. anyways the c's deserved most and this is totally sick. I bet ther'e gonna repeat next season. the loss of posey is great but barnes or Gomes.

PS. no offense to all knicks fans or heat fans.
PPS. wait oops, I forgot that they're is'nt any.

Yeah its kinda funny I hate the patriots but i love the celtics...I guess im still bitter from the 03 superbowl when they beat my hometown rams....but anyways in regards to Ray Allen's comment ANOTHER WIN in LA I loved everyminute of it ...The Lakers define the term cocky to every extent kobe is one of the most arrogant players in the league and its about time for guys like pierce, allen and garnett to start shining. and Next yearh it will be MANY MORE WINS IN LA.......LOL...........GO BOSTON!

Did anybody see Derek Fisher's face after Ray made the comment on stage? The camera went to him right away and boy did he look SALTY!!!...LOL....
