  1. The over the top distracting entertainment at Celtic games is annoying in the extreme. It is not an environment for basketball fans, but a free for all catering to the Attention Deficit Disorder Crowd. The Dancers, the Jumbotron, Lucky, the T-shirts being shot into the audience, the stupid applause meter. and on and on. Give us a break, please!

  1. Agreed I like the traditional we use to have in the old garden, the organ.....etc

Just like the Bruins have the girls come out and sweep the ice

  1. Oh how I wish for the old days when you had basketball only and not all this high tech noise and ra ra ra from the cheer leaders. Worse than High School!!

  1. Right on.

Red is rolling over in his grave.

You know what the "pre-game" show use to be? A horn honked. Period. And it was best basketball in the world.

The Celtic organization should lead the league in getting rid of the extraneous circus.

  1. J Murphy:
I know, and what is with these dunks, and behind the back passes, and screaming when grabbing a rebound in a crowd, or intimidating someone after a blocked shot. Oh wait, thats right, its called basketball in the past 30 years or so. The days of 4 passes and a set shot from 15 feet are over, if you like that type of game, go watch the WNBA. All the activity during time outs and half time is for the kids....not everyone sits in the crowd with a shot chart like you do. I hear they play a mean pick up basketball game over at the local Elks Club, maybe you can jump in and play with the rest of the "50-something crowd"

  1. To James Murphy, what might you suggest happen during timeouts and halftime? Maybe they can pass around a few board games? or a deck a cards so everyone could sit quietly and play solitaire. Settle down Grandpa. Its called entertainment for a reason.

  1. The dancers are nice but the extra entertainment including the fireworks, take away from the greatness of THE GAME. My opinion: Tone it down and focus the attention on the gameplay.

  1. Are you kidding me!!!! hot women in little shorts, and yall are complaining? Or would u rather watch a stupid mascot jump off a trampoline for a dunk!!!! Their doing this during timeouts and halftime, hows that taking away from the game?
Only boston fans would ever complain about hot cheerleaders.

  1. why do people care about the extra sideshows? If you like it watch it. If you don't close your eyes and bring earplugs. The C's just won their first NBA championship in the last 20 years!!! Something must be going right now! Don't change anything

  1. For those of you knuckleheads that don't have a clue, the Dancers and the T-shirt cannon, et al were brought in when the Green Team could not generate enough fans to make crowd noise. It was painful to see the Garden half empty, especially after living through the original Big Three of the 80's. Kudos to ownership for being creative during the lean times. And staring (I mean watching) extremely hot girls in shorts dancing when my favorite team is not playing doesn't stink either.

  1. No thanks. Just basketball, please. That's enough.

  1. I don't care what everybody said that the dancing girls are not part of the Celtics family. The bottom line, the dancing girls took the jink out of the twenty years Celtics drought.
The drought saw the cleaveges and the rest was history!

  1. Are you trying to tell me you would rather watch little funk and those high school cheerleaders dance at celtic games. You guys got issues. I like the celtics dance team and those women are smoking hot. Kinda funny that the same men that have a problem with the celtic dancers would wait in line to get into hooters.

  1. Okay so I like tradition too, but "focus on game play" makes no sense. The cheerleaders aren't out there in the middle of a pick and roll. This is during timeouts. If they weren't there, there would be nothing going on.

How does that take away from game play? If someone's got an intelligent response, I'd love to hear it.

  1. I think that the cheers from the crowd and the dancers are pretty appropriate if you look from the teams perspective. From my knowledge and opinion we Celtics fans are the best fans any state can have our Boston Garden is the loudest and has the truest fans any team can ask for and even Pierce himself said it. Go on ladies entertain!!!!

  1. as usal we're all right....time to just tone it down a little...."hon" who is that over there (now I can sneak a peak....)

  1. I hate all that crap...but TV time outs have made the game boring with the long breaks. A minute and a half for a :20 time out. The Celts were the last team to add that.

I will have to put up with it but hope that KG's friendship with Russ will allow him to see the advantage of tipping a blocked shot to your passing hand to start the break rather than slamming into the crowd to get the big cheer.

  1. Hey, the Celtics' tradition in the first ten years of the franchise was "being in the cellar of the league". Hard work and smarts brought the Celtics Mystique. I know that some guys love to think they are basketball focused by despising the dance team, but you can be a smart fan even if you realize that times-they-are-a-changing.
The exaggerated noise and the fireworks: on that I agree, ownership should cut that because it can become nasty for the five senses.
