No Doc tonight
Coach Doc Rivers will not be with the Celtics for their exhibition opener against the Philadelphia 76ers tonight in Amherst, and has returned to his home in Orlando, Fla.,to attend a hearing regarding the high school eligibilty of Adam Jones, who is a guardian of the Rivers family.
Jones' status with Winter Park High School was challenged by rival coaches after he had been declared eligible last month. Jones, who plays on an AAU club team with Rivers' son, has been residing with the Rivers family since last summer.
Assistant coaches Tom Thibodeau and Armond Hill will run the team.
