Pruitt gets a start
Gabe Pruitt has been receiving extended playing time during the Celtics' preseason as the team has attempted to gradually get him used to playing point guard.
Pruitt was in the starting lineup for the first time when the Celtics met the New York Knicks Sunday as Rajon Rondo (sprained ankle) was held out for precautionary reasons.
And Pruitt seemed to fit right in with the Celtic regulars, converting two 3-pointers in the first 4:05 of play and helping to direct the team to a 21-10 lead with 3:22 remaining in the quarter.
Rondo is expected to return for the final preseason game at New York Tuesday.
