Posted by Gary Dzen, Boston.com Staff November 17, 2008 06:56 PM

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett was suspended by the NBA Monday for one game for hitting Milwaukee's Andrew Bogut in the face near the end of Saturday's game. Garnett will sit out Tuesday night when the Celtics host the New York Knicks.

  1. Why wasn't Bogut suspended after hitting KG with his elbow? The Celtics should
call the league down on this. KG hit Bogut, so suspend him for a game consistent with the league's stated policy. Bogut's elbow struck KG above the shoulder, so he should be out for a game as well.

The league needs to keep an eye on thugs like Bogut. This just lets him get away with it.

  1. So where's Bogut's suspension? He was ejected from the game, Garnett was not. Where's Shaq's suspension? He clothes lined the guy.

  1. It appeared to me that KG simply flailed his hands to get untangled from Bogut. I think all the C's were probably just tired and exhausted and that was frustration. Glad I didn't buy tickets for Tuesday.

  1. Any chance KG & Starbury will be reunited? I think Doc & our locker room would keep him in check. Would be a NICE 6th man.

  1. Just saw the video of the incident. That's pretty weak. Seemed like the technicals should have been sufficient.
