Rivers coach of the month

Posted by Marc J. Spears, Globe Staff December 1, 2008 03:46 PM

Celtics coach Doc Rivers has been named November's Eastern Conference coach of the month. This marks the fourth time in Rivers’ career that he has been named coach of the month.

Rivers is just the third coach since the award's inception (during the 1981-82 season) to have won the award for three straight months. He guided the Celtics to a 16-2 record during October and November.

  1. Good for Doc. Hardest working coach in the league & a good guy too. I can see why the players do well under him-he's a great motivator.

  1. He has always done well, even when they did not have a team that could win. I love Doc as the coach and I am very Happy they gave him an extension. Go Doc & Go Celtics.
