Team picture taken
The Celtics took their 2008-2009 team picture this evening on the Garden's parquet floor. Notably absent from the picture were rookies J.R. Giddens and Bill Walker, who are on assignment with the Utah Flash of the NBA Developmental League. Paul Pierce encouraged his teammates to flash a "serious smile" during the shot.
Last year's team picture was definitely a keeper. We'll see if this one merits the same sentiments after the season (and yes, I am aware there is a guy walking in front of the camera in this particular picture. Globe photographer Barry Chin will have a better one later).
