Allen runs out of gas
Celtics guard Tony Allen (23 minutes in his return from an 11-game absence) made all five of his field goal attempts in tonight's win against the Kings. Allen finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 block.
But Allen scored just two points and had all four of his turnovers in the second half.
“Fatigue kicked in," Allen said. "I felt my ankle sore a little bit at half time. I stayed back a little bit. I just got tired late at the end but other than that I felt good.”
Celtics coach Doc Rivers had a candid assessment of his game.
"I thought in the first half he kept it simple," said Rivers. "In the second half he started trying to do a little too much and you turn it over. We need him to play like that first half all the time.”
