Going to the bench

Posted by Frank Dell'Apa, Globe Staff January 6, 2009 07:41 PM

Coach Doc Rivers maintained his intention to use the Celtic reserves in more prominent roles against the Charlotte Bobcats.

Glen Davis replaced Kevin Garnett 6:28 into the contest and Brian Scalabrine also entered in the opening quarter. Gabe Pruitt started the second half in place of Rajon Rondo and helped key a 10-0 Celtic run.

Pruitt launched an airball on his first attempt, but cut the deficit to 32-31 with a 3-pointer 2:56 into the quarter. Eddie House's transition jumper upped the Celtic lead to 35-32 with 7:24 remaining.
