Kendrick Perkins will be in the Celtics' starting lineup against the Miami Heat tonight, his first appearance since a 98-83 loss at Cleveland Jan. 9. Perkins (left shoulder) has been participating in shooting drills, but avoiding contact as the Celtics (34-9) went on a five-game winning streak.

Guard Ray Allen rejoined the team after attending the presidential inauguration in Washington, D.C., Tuesday. Guard Tony Allen (ankle) will not play against Miami or Orlando (Thursday), but hopes to return against Dallas in Boston Sunday.

"It was great to be a part of it," Allen said of the ceremonies, after participating in a shootaround at the American Airlines Arena. "Whenever you are at an event of great magnitude you don't realize where you are until you see video of it after the fact -- watching us win the (NBA) championship, you don't really feel the full affect until after the event."
