Tony Allen injured

Posted by Frank Dell'Apa, Globe Staff January 6, 2009 01:46 PM

Celtics guard Tony Allen will miss the game against the Charlotte Bobcats tonight with a right ankle strain. Allen, injured during the Celtics' 100-88 loss to New York Sunday, could also miss the home game against Houston Wednesday.

"I re-injured it driving into the middle when I got called for traveling," Allen said after viewing the Celtics' shootaround at the Time Warner Cable Arena today. "I tweaked it and I should have left the game but I tried to play on it. Hopefully, it will be better tomorrow."

Celtics coach Doc Rivers said the involvement of Gabe Pruitt and Brian Scalabrine would likely be increasing, regardless of Allen's status.

"We have to figure out a way to get (Scalabrine) on the floor," Rivers said. "He does a lot of good things for us."

  1. The C's should bring up Billy "Sky" Walker, or JR Giddens to replace TA.

  1. TA has been playing horribly, so it's not a big loss. I'd love to see what his turnover per minute average looks like. Seems like he's always traveling, turning the ball over, driving into traffic with his head down, falling down, missing 3 pt shots and otherwise playing without a brain.

  1. Trevor Ariza = Rondo Stopper

    quote:
"I think the Lakers and the Knicks did the same thing- they put a bigger guy on me"

Yeah, but big differance.Jared Jefferies can't do it for 40 minutes, Trevor can!!!!!!!!

All of this talk about the Lakers not having Amdrew Bynum was the reason they lost is bs. But the fact that Trevor will not be recieving a Celtics Championship Ring on Febuary 5th in Boston is a crying shame!!!!!!!!

That's right, Trevor's Fractured Foot was the MVP of the C's '08 Campionship Season!!!!!!!

He is the reason we will sweep the season series with you.
And hopefully sweep you in the Finals.

    hog
    ps:
He can also shut down Pierce and both Allen's!!!!!!

  1. Scalabrine plays hard, but Coach Rivers does NOT need to find a way to get him on the floor. There are much better players. Scal missed crucial shots down the stretch in the New York game.
