How about Booth?

Posted by Marc J. Spears, Globe Staff February 19, 2009 11:56 AM

The Kings just traded forward Shelden Williams and point guard Bobby Brown to the Timberwolves for guard Rashad McCants and center Calvin Booth, according to an NBA source.

The source added that if Booth is waived by Sacramento, the Celtics could be interested in signing him to fill their open roster spot. The 6-foot-11, 230-pounder played just one game for Minnesota this season, and has played sparingly as a backup center in recent seasons.

Booth, however, has size and length that the Celtics need, as well as 10 years of NBA experience.

Celtics president Danny Ainge has said that if he does make a move it will be something minor to aid his bench. A move for Booth would fit those words, but it remains to be seen if the Kings will waive him.

The Kings waived guard Sam Cassell, recently acquired from Boston, yesterday. With Booth, Sacramento's roster currently sits at 15, the league maximum.
