Rivers: O'Bryant has a future
Celtic coach Doc Rivers said the team was reluctant to deal center Patrick O'Bryant, who went to Toronto just before the league trade deadline this afternoon.
"We needed a roster spot," Rivers said before the Celtics met the Utah Jazz. "Patrick did everything we asked him to do and he was improving. In the future he is going to be on the floor for somebody, he is a great kid. He was disappointed, he loved being here -- that was a tough one."
