As you might have heard, Kevin Garnett and the Celtics are the defending NBA champions. But KG's reign at the top of another somewhat less relevant category officially ended today when the NBA announced that the Lakers' Kobe Bryant had the most popular jersey in NBA this season, reclaiming the spot from Garnett, who topped the list last season.

The list is based on sales at the NBA Store in New York City and NBAStore.com since the start of the 2008-09 NBA season through April 2009.

Garnett dropped to fourth on the list this year, behind Bryant (who also ranked first in 2006-07), Cleveland's LeBron James, and New Orleans's Chris Paul.

The Celtics' Paul Pierce is seventh on the list, while teammate Ray Allen is No. 12.

The Lakers rank first on the NBA’s list of most popular team merchandise. The Celtics fell to No. 2 after holding the top spot last year.

Here's the list of the top 15 most popular jerseys:
1. Bryant
2. James
3. Paul
4. Garnett
5. Allen Iverson, Pistons
6. Dwyane Wade, Heat
7. Pierce
