Coach K back with USA

Posted by Marc J. Spears, Globe Staff July 7, 2009 08:52 PM

Two sources close to the situation told The Boston Globe today that Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski will be back for another tour coaching USA Basketball's national team. The announcement is expected to be made in a press conference Las Vegas prior to a USA Basketball mini-camp featuring young prospects for the national team on July 22-25. The sources said Krzyzewski is committed to coaching the 2010 World Championships in Turkey and the 2012 London Olympics. Krzyzewski coached USA Basketball to a gold medal to the 2008 Beijing Olympics. His same coaching staff, which included the likes of Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni, Blazers coach Nate McMillan and Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim, is expected to return.
