Scal makes impression on Pierce

Celtics' captain Paul Pierce sustained a cut on his right cheek, thanks to a Brian Scalabrine elbow, during a Thursday afternoon practice session. Pierce finished the 1 1/2-hour session with a bandage on his face.

Scalabrine was training for the first time this week -- back spasms kept him out of the Celtics' 105-86 win over Utah Wednesday -- and he is expected to play against Atlanta Friday night.
