Final, Celtics 90, Spurs 83

Kevin Garnett scores 20 and Ray Allen 15 for Boston. Rajon Rondo finishes with 12 assists.


Fourth quarter, 12.9, Celtics 88-83

Manu Ginobili drives into the paint to find Michael Finley, who hits the 3-pointer but had his foot on the sideline. Celtics ball. Eddie House fouled.


Fourth quarter, 15.4, Celtics 88-83

Paul Pierce hits one of two free throws and the Spurs call time out.


Fourth quarter, 18.3, Celtics 87-83

Ray Allen just made a key play, knocking the ball, along with Rajon Rondo, off the hip of Tony Parker as Parker drived to the basket. The Celtics haven't been impressive in the final minutes but they have the ball and the next San Antonio foul will result in free throws.


Fourth quarter, 2:00, Celtics 87-81

Rajon Rondo just drains a key jumper to put Boston back up six after DeJuan Blair, who is a beast in the paint, tips in a Tim Duncan miss to cut it to four, the closest San Antonio had been since 34-31 in the second quarter.

Fourth quarter, 3:59, Celtics 85-79


Boston is clinging to its lead as the Spurs are pushing hard behind DeJuan Blair and Tony Parker. Tim Duncan just re-entered the game.

Fourth quarter, 7:03, Celtics 81-75

Spurs on a 6-0 run behind two buckets by Tony Parker and a layup from productive DeJuan Blair. The Celtis have gone 2:09 without a point and it may be time to get Kevin Garnett and Kendrick Perkins back in.


Fourth quarter, 8:58, Celtics 81-69

After draining a wide open 3-pointer, Rasheed Wallace back pedaled down the court saying, "Don't sag off on me! Don't sag off on me!" He has 13 points in 13 minutes and Marquis Daniels just converted a bucket for a 12-point lead.


End of third quarter, Celtics 74-63

Rajon Rondo just collected his 12th assist on a pretty dive into the paint and blind dish out to Rasheed Wallace, who drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer for the 11-point lead. The Spurs reduced the lead to 66-60 with a 13-4 run but the Celtics ended the quarter on an 8-3 spurt. Ray Allen has 15 points and Rasheed Wallace has 10 for Boston.


Third quarter, 2:35, Celtics 66-54

The Celtics are maintaining their 10-plus point lead behind the play of Rajon Rondo and staunch defense. Kevin Garnett has 15 points.


Third quarter, 8:36, Celtics 53-41


The boo birds are out in San Antonio are a series of unforced turnovers as the Celtics have built on their eight-point halftime lead. Ray Allen has 11 points and Kevin Garnett 10.


Third quarter, 9:49, Celtics 51-41


Sorry for the technical difficulties. There is no wireless signal courtside at AT@T Center so we're going with the old analog phone line. The Celtics are doing a masterful defensive job so far, holding the Spurs to 39 percent shooting.

Second quarter, 8:43, Celtics 29-21

Ray Allen has seven points as the Celtics have held the Spurs to 36 percent shooting in the early going. Rasheed Wallace has five points in six minutes.


End of first quarter, Celtics 25-15


The loud crowd here are jumping on the officials for some shaky calls but it could be the Celtics' night. DeJuan Blair just knocked in a rebound under the Celtics basket, score two for Boston.


First quarter, 2:36, Celtics 18-14


The Celtics have led most of the way but are missing shots and could be ahead by more. Rasheed Wallace and Marquis Daniels ready to enter the game.


First quarter, 4:47, Celtics 16-10

Boston is off to a fast start and has five points from Ray Allen. Tim Duncan has six for San Antonio.
