The biggest occurrence in tonight's game was the ejection of Doc Rivers at the 6:16 mark in the third quarter. The weirdest was that the Celtics never made another substitution after Rivers left, going with a lineup of Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo, Ray Allen, Kendrick Perkins, and Glen Davis for the final 19 minutes of the game.

Was this what Rivers himself would have done?

"Ah I don't know. I'm not going to ... I don't know," Rivers said after the game. "I think with me getting thrown out it left our staff...it happened so quick. So leaving the guys in that were playing well was probably the safe bet, I don't know."

Pierce, who played 42 minutes against the Hawks, was asked if he was tired.

"Possibly," said Pierce, not wanting to put too much blame on his assistant coaches. "I mean, I don't know. I think it just comes to wanting to be out there and having the will to win regardless. I know both teams were tired."
