The Celtics continue to fight the battle of attrition.

Captain Paul Pierce (knee infection) and guard Rajon Rondo (hamstring) worked with the first unit at practice Tuesday and are expected to be available for Wednesday's visit to Miami.

But guard Eddie House and center Kendrick Perkins missed practice because of illness, joining Marquis Daniels (wrist) and Kevin Garnett (knee) on the sideline. House will likely miss Wednesday's game but Perkins was expected to board the team flight Tuesday afternoon, according to coach Doc Rivers. House has a case of the flu and Perkins had either flu symptoms or a stomach virus, Rivers said.

Practice concluded with a first unit of Pierce and Brian Scalabrine at forwards, Rasheed Wallace at center, and Ray Allen and Rondo at guards.
