Hoophall Classic: Amazing Austin Rivers dunks

SPRINGFIELD -- Add Austin Rivers to the injured list. In the birthplace of basketball with the Winter Park (Fla.) Wildcats to face Gonzaga College High in the 2010 Hoophall Classic, the junior guard went down early in the fourth quarter when his leg was stepped on as he was fighting out of a double team.

After exciting the tournament crowd with a 21-point performance highlighted by two vicious dunks (pictured above, courtesy of our friends at MassLive.com) in the first half (shown aboe) and a trio of threes in the third quarter, Rivers, who had verballed to Florida but was also considering Duke, could be heard screaming in pain as the gym fell silent. He ultimately had to be carried off the floor.

Doc Rivers, in attendance after a short Celtics practice earlier this afternoon, walked from his seat perched above James Naismith Court, across the gym see his son at the trainer’s table, waving at the crowd as he went to check on his son, who never re-entered the game.
