Two sources confirm that Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo will be named as Eastern Conference All-Star reserves and now comes the process of whether they will participate in All-Star Saturday.

Pierce wants another chance to participate in the 3-point contest, where he faltered in 2002 while Rondo could be asked to participate in the Skills Challenge, which usually displays the passing and dribbling skills of the league's top point guards.

Rondo's agent, Bill Duffy, said Wednesday he had not discussed the Skills Challenge with his client. The field should be set in the next week or so by the NBA.
