Pierce will have X-rays on left foot
WASHINGTON -- Paul Pierce briefly left Monday's game with 2:01 left in the first period after being landed on by Caron Butler during a scramble for the ball. Pierce bruised his left foot and will receive X-rays Wednesday in Boston.
Pierce returned to the game in the second quarter and actually played 17 more minutes but scored one point and sat the entire fourth quarter, when the Celtics outscored the Wizards 25-10. Pierce had ice on the foot and was walking on his own and had enough energy to talk smack with former Celtic Sam Cassell, a Wizards assistant coach.
