Final, Nuggets 114-105

The Celtics tied the game at 66 but then ran out of gas and the Nuggets used a big fourth-quarter run to seal the game. Chauncey Billups finished with 26 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds while J.R. Smith scored 19 off the bench. Ray Allen finished a solid road trip with 25 while Paul Pierce was non-existent with five points in 31 minutes.

Fourth quarter, 2:37, Nuggets 107-94

The Celtics are 1 for 12 from the 3-point line while Denver is 8 for 19. Denver has also attempted 10 more free throws and has 12 offensive rebounds.

Fourth quarter, 3:14, Nuggets 105-93

The Celtics will go home 3-1 on this road trip after running out of gas in the final quarter. J.R. Smith has three 3-pointers in the quarter and the Celtics were on the losing end of trading baskets. Paul Pierce has four points.

Fourth quarter, 7:50, Nuggets 92-80

Marquis Daniels just bobbled the ball away as he drove for a layup and the Nuggets cashed it in with a 3-pointer by J.R. Smith, causing Doc Rivers to call a time out. If the Celtics are going to rally, now has to be the time. Paul Pierce has played 7 minutes this half but now will return to the game.

Fourth quarter, 8:37, Nuggets 89-80

The Celtics are trying to make a run but are getting killed on the boards and with loose balls. Doc Rivers is trying to use the bench as a spark but Glen Davis, Tony Allen and Marquis Daniels each have missed free throws in the past few minutes.

End of third quarter, Nuggets 82-73

The Celtics actually tied the game at 66 but Denver went on a 16-7 run in the final 4 1/2 minutes of the quarter and now have the momentum back. Carmelo Anthony scored six points in that run. Denver has also attempted 29 free throws in the game to Boston's 15. The Nuggets attempted 11 in that third quarter.

Third quarter, 2:54, Nuggets 66-63

Carmelo Anthony is beginning to take over and the Celtics have no one to check him. Marquis Daniels just picked up his fourth foul. Ray Allen has 20 for Boston but Paul Pierce has just two points in 25 minutes. He doesn't look right.

strong>Third quarter, 5:24, Nuggets 66-63

The Celtics are playing good defense but Chauncey Billups has scored the first 10 of Denver's points in the period, six on 3-pointers. Boston had a chance to cut the lead to one but Rajon Rondo tried a no-look pass to Kevin Garnett that was intercepted by Kenyon Martin and Nene followed with an uncontested dunk, a four-point swtich.

Halftime, Nuggets 54-47

The Celtics respond from a terrible quarter with a strong one and have now made this a game. The Nuggets shot 30 percent in the period and got most of their points from the free throw line. Ray Allen has 17 points in 21 minutes while Kevin Garnett has eight. Paul Pierce has two points in 18 minutes and hasn't looked right since injuring his foot two weeks ago.

Second quarter, 2:51, Nuggets 50-41

The Celtics are back in this one after deciding to play some defense in the quarter. The Nuggets are 5 for 14 from the field in the period and George Karl just picked up a technical for arguing a non-goaltending call on Kevin Garnett, who rose and grabbed a short Arron Afflalo shot out of the air.

Second quarter, 6:52, Nuggets 46-35

OK so the Celtics are back in this one with another five straight points and Ray Allen already has 13 points in 13 minutes. The Celtics have decided to let Kenyon Martin do the scoring and focus on stopping Anthony and Billups.

Second quarter, 8:46, Nuggets 44-30

The Celtics are beginning to play defense and if Kenyon Martin continues to hit 17-foot jumpers, you are good with that. The Celtcs went on a 7-0 run to get closer and now will try to cut it to within 10 before halftime. Ray Allen has 10 points while no other Celtic has more than four.

End of first quarter, Nuggets 37-19

Easily one of the worst defensive quarters of the season for the Celtics. Denver shot 73 percent and the Celtics let the Nuggets drive into the paint without any resistance. The latest case was with 30.7 left in the period and Chris Birdman Andersen grabbed a steal and dribble 3/4 court for a dunk as Rasheed Wallace backed off. Embarrassing.

First quarter, 2:25, Nuggets 30-16

Denver is off to a hot start, hitting a whopping 14 of 19 shots and making the Celtics look old and tired. Carmelo Anthony has eight points and isn't being guarded while Chauncey Billups has nine points on 4-for-4 shooting.
