Bill Walker was listed as one of the of the competitors in the D-League Dunk Contest, and he didn't even know it.
He was told by Celtics PR man Brian Olive that in order to go, he'd have to be sent back down to NBDL Maine. He wasn't interested.
"I'm trying to go home to see my mom," he said.
It's hard to blame him considering that with Paul Pierce out, he's likely to see his minutes increase until Pierce is able to return.
Walker's hops are well-chronicled from his days cramming on high schoolers to his Kansas State days to his YouTube classics in a Celtics jersey.
He admitted though that there's something not quite right with going to Dallas and dunking in the D-League. It wouldn't be the same as being in the real thing.
"It's like the NIT," he said, agreeing with a reporter. "I don't want to do it."
