Final: Celtics 102-93
The C's end the game on a 23-9 run and get perhaps their best win of the season, beating one of the Western Conference's best teams with tough defense down the stretch. The Mavericks did not score in the final 2:03. Paul Pierce tallies 29 points and Rajon Rondo pitches in 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists.

Fourth quarter, 3:04 Celtics 92-91

Celtics get lead back with 12-7 run and are trying to close it out but Dirk Nowitzki has been a beast in the fourth quarter. The Celtics simply can't defend him.

Fourth quarter, 9:06 Mavericks 79-75
Dallas on 7-0 run against the Celtics bench, including a 3-pointer from Dirk Nowitzki, who has awaken in the second half. Looks like Doc is going to have to go with the starters to finish off the game.

End of third quarter, Celtics 73-72
This game is going down to the wire as the Mavericks rallied from a 9-point deficit and briefly took the lead on a Jason Kidd 3-pointer. Paul Pierce ended the quarter with a jumper and has 23 points. Ray Allen has 14 and Kendrick Perkins 11. Dirk Nowitzki and Shawn Marion each have 16 for Dallas.

Third quarter, 2:03 Tied at 67
Mavericks on a 15-6 run as Caron Butler sparked the rally with a fierce dunk on Kendrick Perkins. The Celtics have stopped moving the ball and have committed some silly mistakes in the last few minutes.

Third quarter, 8:30 Celtics 61-52
The Celtics have started off strong in the third period and are trying to take command with a 8-2 flurry. The defense has been exceptional in stretches and Dirk Nowitzki has been neutralized.

Halftime, Celtics 48-47
Boston had a 45-38 lead with 4:05 left but only could produce a Ray Allen 3-pointer for the rest of the half. Still, they led most of the first half and the defense has held the Mavericks besides Jason Terry and Shawn Marion to 7 for 22 shooting. Kevin Garnett has five of Boston's nine steals.

Second quarter, 5:29, Celtics 40-38
The difference has been Jason Terry who has 14 points off the bench and the Celtics don't have an answer for his production. And of the Celtics nine fouls so far, six have been committed against Dirk Nowitzki. Besides Terry and Shawn Marion, the Mavericks are 5for 18 from the field.

Second quarter, 8:48, Celtics 32-30
The bench is in the game and they aren't producing as last night, just one bucket in the first 3:12 of the quarter, and that was a layup by Glen Davis, who missed another chip shot just moments ago. Jason Terry, despite a broken cheekbone, has come off the bench to score eight points for Dallas.

End of first quarter, Celtics 30-24
The Celtics respond to end the quarter with a 21-12 run as the defense is as effective as last night in Houston. Dirk Nowitzki has three points and just went to the locker room. Paul Pierce already has 10 points for the Celtics.

First quarter, 2:09, Celtics 23-18
Paul Pierce already has eight points and Rajon Rondo six as the Celtics, on the second game of a back-to-back, look like they mean business tonight. The Celtics are 8 for 17 from the field and 7 for 7 from the free throw line. Shawn Marion has 10 for Dallas.

First quarter, 5:49, Mavericks 12-11
The Celtics are hanging with the Mavs early, led by Rajon Rondo's solid defense and he has added four points. Shawn Marion has six for the Mavericks who have four steals.
