Pierce: These games mean something

On top of that, part of Pierce wants to erase the memory of Washington loss, particularly with fan appreciation night coming up. He agreed with Danny Ainge that the loss was "embarrassing."

"It doesn't feel right when you lose those types of games to a team that you're supposed to really crush," Pierce said. "It never feels good. It was embarrassing."

This was the Celtics last full practice of the season, and as much as they were preparing for a Bulls team that just pushed into the eight spot, Pierce said the Celtics used the time to prepare for something bigger.

"We're not only preparing for Chicago, we're preparing for the playoffs," Pierce said. "So we got some good work in today.
