Boston mayor Thomas M. Menino has flubbed another sports reference, this time at a dedication ceremony yesterday at the Tobin Community Center.

Menino referred to NBA commissioner David Stern as "Donald Sterns." Watch the gaffe in the video above.

Last month, at a ceremony to dedicate a statue outside TD Garden, Menino called "Varitek splitting the uprights" one of the city's great sports moments when he should have said "Vinatieri" in reference to the Patriots' place-kicker. That was on the heels of Menino setting up his remarks by saying the city has had "ionic" sports moments when he meant to say "iconic."

Of course, area pols are no strangers to blowing the call. Click here to see a gallery of other misfires.
