Celtics reach out to Lee
The Celtics have also reached out to Knicks free agent David Lee, according to Lee's agent Mark Bartelstein. The Celtics' need for a big man is obvious with Rasheed Wallace's imminent retirement and Kendrick Perkins's upcoming ACL surgery. Bartelstein told the Globe earlier in the day that the Celtics had contacted Bulls free agent Brad Miller.
Lee already has several suitors. He will reportedly meet with Miami, Chicago, Minnesota and New Jersey in the next two days. Lee made his first All-Star team last season, replacing Allen Iverson. His numbers have jumped in each of his five seasons, peaking this past year when he put up 20.2 points and 11.7 rebounds in 81 games for the Knicks.
