To hear them tell it, the Celtics have already been in training camp mode for the past few weeks. Most of the players are already in Waltham even though camp doesn't open until next Tuesday, and team president Danny Ainge has had players in and out for workouts the past two weeks. There's an excitement level going into camp after bringing back the cast that went to the Finals while also adding Shaquille and Jermaine O'Neal along with stockpiling a ton of possible options as backup wings.

Getting ready to get a few holes in at the Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy on one of the last days of leisure for the Celtics, Ainge said:

Delonte’s (West) looking for another chance and really wants to re-establish himself as a player. Nate’s (Robinson) looking for an opportunity to come to training camp. Marquis (Daniels) is looking for a chance to redeem himself and really get back to the player that he knows he can be. We have a lot of new, hungry guys and the guys that are coming back from the team last year have a sour taste in their mouths from the difficult loss in Game 7.
