big_baby_cover.jpgA new children's book written by the vice president of the Lowell Spinners baseball team features Celtics forward Glen "Big Baby" Davis as the main character.

"Basketball with Big Baby," will be released tomorrow, and its launch will be celebrated at a party at Lowell Beer Works to benefit the C2 Mission, a charity that helps children affected by cerebral palsy and cystic fibrosis.

It is the second children's book by author Jon Goode of Natick, who wrote a similar book entitled "Pitching with the Papelbons," with Red Sox relief pitcher Jonathan Papelbon. "Basketball with Big Baby" was illustrated by Boston College student Rachel Gregorio of Burlington.

Tickets for the launch party are $25 and include a copy of the book for Davis, who will attend, to autograph. Call Goode at 978-805-5106 or email jgoode@lowellspinners.com to reserve tickets.
