End of Regulation, Celtics 96, Bulls 96: The Bulls got the stop they needed, but when they put the ball in the hands of Derrick Rose, they couldn’t get a shot off.

Fourth quarter, 34.2 seconds, Celtics 96, Bulls, 96: Luol Deng's three-pointer ties it and gives the Bulls a chance to win.

Fourth Quarter, 3:00, Celtics 92, Bulls 86The Celtics come up with a big stop in the form of Ray Allen's steal. Allen raced down the court for a tough layup, getting hacked, going to the line and knocking down the free throw to give the Celtics a 90-86 lead. Paul Pierce, who had missed eight of his nine shots prior, tipped in a Rajon Rondo miss to give the Celtics a 92-86 lead.

Fourth quarter, 3:59, Celtics 87, Bulls 86: For what you figured would be a defensive struggle, the numbers are just absurd. The Bulls are shooting 50 percent, a forbidden clip in Boston. And the Celtics are shooting 49.3 percent, which will likely give Tibs the shakes for most of the night.

Fourth quarter, 5:58, Celtics 81, Bulls 79: Chicago's essentially dunked its way to a 2-point game. They're killing the Celtics in the pain (42 points) and after opening what was a 16-point lead the Celtics have no answers at the moment.

Fourth quarter, 10:25, Celtics 75, Bulls 66: The Bulls made a huge push late in the third quarter. They were threatening early in the fourth when Nate Robinson, who was 5 of 26 in the first five games of the season, hit a huge corner 3 with 10:00 left in the fourth to open up a 9. Joakim Noah came right back and got a three-point play off a Semih Erden foul to cut it down to 6.

Third quarter, 7:01, Celtics 58, Bulls 50 The Bulls have cut it to single digits. Taj Gibson's scored 6 of their 12 points in the quarter. After scoring his 20,000 point two nights ago, Paul Pierce is struggling. He's 1 for 8 from the floor. But he's active on the glass with five rebounds.

Halftime, Celtics 49, Bulls 38:After shooting 8 of 21 in the first quarter the Celtics shot 10 of 17 in the second. The Bulls, meanwhile, couldn't find the bucket (5 of 17 from the floor) and couldn't protect the ball (11 turnovers, 19 points) While they were struggling, Marquis Daniels was having his best night of the short season going 4 for 4 form the floor and 3 of 4 from the line for a team-high 11 first-half points.

Second quarter, 3:52, Celtics 41, Bulls 26The Bulls are struggling to find anything resembling offense. Luol Deng, their second-leading scorer, is 0 for 6. Derrick Rose can barely get the ball. They've turned it over 10 times to the tune of 19 points. The Celtics are o a 22-3 run.

Second quarter, 6:03, Celtics 33, Bulls 25: The Bulls ended a 5:57 scoring drought when Derrick Rose drove for a layup. They went 0 for 6 with three turnovers during the stretch of futility.

Second quarter, 7:07, Celtics 29, Bulls 23: A 10-0 run to start the quarter washes away an ugly first 12 minutes. Marquis Daniels has four points in the run. If you're counting at home, Glen Davis is up to 11 charges taken this season after taking a pair this half.

doc and tibs.JPGSecond quarter, 10:08, Celtics 23, Bulls 23: Scal enters the game to a roaring ovation from the Garden crowd. They still give him the Rudy treatment, when he touches the ball they scream for him to shoot in regardless of details like whether he's open.

First quarter, end of quarter, Bulls 23, Celtics 19: Maybe Tibs saved a couple of pages from the playbook. For the first time this season, the Celtics are in a hole at the end of the first quarter. The clanged 13 of their 21 first quarter shots. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce went a combined 0 for 9.

First quarter, 1:42, Bulls 19, Celtics 15: It's a rock fight. The two teams are shooting a combined 15 of 36. The Celtics are shooting 38.9 percent. Whoever wins is going to win ugly.

First quarter, 6:33, Celtics 11, Bulls 10:Ray Allen starts out scorching (7 points on 3 of 3 shooting) but the Bulls erase an early Celtics burst behind Taj Gibson's 6 points.
