Final: Celtics 116, Grizzlies 110

Final, Celtics 116-110:Boston turns back a tough Memphis team with a dominant overtime session and come home 3-1 on a tough four-game road trip. Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 28 points and Kevin Garnett added 18 points and nine rebounds. Rudy Gay scored 21 for Memphis and Zach Randolph added 21 and 11 rebounds.

Overtime, 48.9, Celtics 113-104:Mike Conley drains a 3-pointer while Ray Allen hits two free throws and the Celtics are just trying to get out of Memphis with a win. They have six players in double figures while Rajon Rondo has 17 assists.

Overtime, 57.0, Celtics 111-101:Boston dominates in overtime and will end this road trip 3-1 but not without some drama. Zach Randolph and Rajon Rondo were shoving a bit after Randolph knocked down Kevin Garnett on a rebound.

Overtime, 2:06, Celtics 106-99:Boston appears a little irked it has to go into overtime to end a long road trip. Glen Davis opens the extra session with a jumper, Ray Allen followed with a 3-pointer from the baseline and Rajon Rondo adds a jumper.

End of regulation, Tied at 99:Paul Pierce couldn't carve enough space for his own shot and took a 22-footer that didn't draw iron as time expired. Celtics third overtime game of the season.

Fourth quarter, 7.3, Tied at 99:Rudy Gay drops in a jumper and the Celtics follow with a poor offensive possession and Rajon Rondo had to heave a desperation shot. Gay then comes back with a 8-foot pull-up for the tie. Celtics ball.

Fourth quarter, 55.0, Celtics 99-95:Celtics come up with a turnover and Ray Allen drains a 20-footer for a 4-point lead. Memphis ball.

Fourth quarter, 1:17, Celtics 97-95:Celtics come up empty on two consecutive trips and Tony Allen hits a free throw. The Grizzlies have the ball. The Celtics are at the foul limit and the Grizzlies have one to give.

Fourth quarter, 2:11, Celtics 97-94:The two teams are trading blowing and Tony Allen sent a message to his former team with 10 points and three rebounds off the bench. Ray Allen has snapped out of his slumber with a 3-pointer and jumper in the quarter while Paul Pierce added a 3-pointer. Celtics ball.

Fourth quarter, 5:52, Grizzlies 88-87:Greivis Vasquez is sparkling the Grizzlies, who have played with more passion in the second half. He has seven points off the bench and Tony Allen has eight. Celtics are also being out-rebounded 28-24 and have committed 16 turnovers.

Fourth quarter, 8:17, Celtics 82-80:Tony Allen making some big plays against his former team and he has 8 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists in 14 minutes. Shaquille O'Neal has 18 points but just picked up his fifth foul. Rajon Rondo has nine points and 10 assists.

End of the third quarter, Tied at 73:Memphis chips away at the Celtics lead with a 7-3 run and now anything goes in the fourth quarter. Former Maryland standout Greivis Vasquez hits a key 3-pointer in Memphis run.

Third quarter, 2:56, Celtics 72-66:Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett have combined for 31 points for the Celtics, who need another burst to put some space between them and the energetic Grizzlies. Rajon Rondo just collected his 10th assists while Garnett and Shaquille O'Neal each has six rebounds.

Third quarter, 5:39, Celtics 66-62:The Celtics keep putting themselves in good shape to open up the lead and then allow the Grizzlies to make mini runs. Zach Randolph is winning the battle with Kevin Garnett, scoring 17 points in 25 minutes. Rajon Rondo has 8 points and 8 assists in 27 minutes.

Third quarter, 8:57, Celtics 62-56:Boston had a chance to put some space between it and the Grizzlies but has been allowing too many easy baskets and trips to the free throw line. Zach Randolph has 15 for Memphis and O.J. Mayo 10. Tony Allen has 2 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in six minutes.

Halftime, Celtics 54-49:Shaquille O'Neal is enjoying his best game as a Celtic in front of former teammate Penny Hardaway. He has 14 points and six rebounds in 15 minutes. Paul Pierce has 11 for Boston and Nate Robinson 10 off the bench. Zach Randolph has 14 for the Grizzlies, who scored the last six points of the half

Second quarter, 6:35, Celtics 42-33:The Celtics' bench has sparked a 13-4 run and Nate Robinson has 10 points, including seven in the quarter. Rajon Rondo has two assists and while the Grizzlies are 2-for-7 from the field in the quarter.

Second quarter, 9:30, Celtics 32-29:After allowing Memphis to shoot 59 percent in the first quarter, Celtics coach Doc Rivers decided to dig deep into his bench for energy, hence the Von Wafer sighting. Nate Robinson has come off the bench to hit two 3-pointers. The Grizzlies are led by Zach Randolph.

End of first quarter, Tied at 27:The Grizzlies have come to play this evening and the Celtics are just trying to withstand their early surge, especially from Zach Randolph, who scored 10 points as the Grizzlies shot 59 percent in the quarter. Rajon Rondo did not record an assist in the first quarter. Paul Pierce leads Boston with nine points while Shaquille O'Neal has six points and three rebounds.

First quarter, 2:28, Grizzlies 23-22:The Celtics are allowing the Grizzlies to have easy shots and they have hit 11 of their first 17 attempts and Zach Randolph has eight points. Paul Pierce has seven for Boston.
