Final, Celtics 106-87 A solid victory for the Celtics, who started slow but dominated the final three quarters to avenge their early-season loss here. The Cavaliers fans already started booing when the announcer said the next game is against the Miami Heat. Rajon Rondo finished with 23 points and 12 assists.

Fourth quarter, 1:47, Celtics 99-82 Celtics will get an important road win because they were able to rest their starters for most of the fourth quarter. A stellar night for Rajon Rondo, who has 23 points and 12 assists.

Fourth quarter, 6:24, Celtics 88-73 Doc Rivers has rested all the starters besides Rondo, hoping to preserve their legs. The bench is trying to hold on to the lead but Rivers called a timeout after Anderson Varejao made consecutive layups. He jumped on Semih Erden about his defense. Varejao has 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Fourth quarter, 8:31, Celtics 86-69 Three and a half minutes into the quarter and the Celtics have built on the lead. Boy would Doc Rivers sure love to rest his starters for Wednesday. Rajon Rondo has 23 points, 9 assists and 5 rebounds while Marquis Daniels has come off the bench for 12. Mo Williams has 13 for Cleveland.

End of third quarter, Celtics 80-65 If you're a Celtics fan you understand this game isn't over with the way they can give up fourth-quarter leads but they have put themselves in good shape with a strong defensive quarter. Rajon Rondo has 19 for the Celtics.

Third quarter, 2:02, Celtics 76-61 The Celtics are on an 8-2 run trying to create more space and give the starters some rest for tomorrow's game against Portland. Kevin Garnett appeared to tweak his left ankle early in the period but responded with a nice save of an errant pass and just hit a bank shot after being fouled by Jamario Moon. He has 10 points and seven rebounds.

Third quarter, 6:45, Celtics 66-54 The Celtics are unable to pull away from the Cavaliers but are in the penalty and will spend the rest of the period at the free throw line. Rajon Rondo has 17 points and five assists.

Third quarter, 8:31, Celtics 63-51 The Celtics still have no answer for Anderson Varejao, who seems to get any offense rebound he wants. But they are offsetting his contributions with good shooting.

Halftime, Celtics 56-45 A 35-point quarter for the Celtics and they are trying to fight off the pesky Cavaliers, who are staying in the game with jump shooting. The Celtics finished the half with 51 percent shooting and 13 points from Rajon Rondo and seven from Paul Pierce. Daniel Gibson leads Cleveland with 9.

Second quarter, 2:57, Celtics 52-40 The Celtics have found their groove and are running and scoring easy baskets. Paul Pierce has seven points during this while Rajon Rondo leads Boston with 13. The Cavaliers are making turnovers and missing those shots they hit earlier. Daniel Gibson has nine points off the bench.

Second quarter, 7:48, Celtics 32-29 The bench is providing spark with Nate Robinson scoring four straight points to give the Celtics their first lead since 4-3. The Cavaliers are making Rajon Rondo a scorer and he has 13 points so far while Paul Pierce hasn't scored. The Cavs plan is simple and lets see if the Big Three respond.

End of first quarter, Cavaliers 23-21 Rajon Rondo had a chance to tie the game at the end of the period with three free throws after being fouled 60 feet away from the basket as he launched a desperation shot. But he missed two of the free throws. But he's been the only one playing so far. The rest of the Celtics are 4-for-12 from the field.

First quarter, 30.1, Cavaliers 23-20 Sorry for the tech difficulties folks. The Celtics are off to another slow start here in Cleveland and Paul Pierce has two fouls. Rajon Rondo has 10 points but the Big Three have a combined six.
