Jermaine O'Neal went to New York to get a second opinion on his swollen left knee, but because of weather conditions in the Northeast, he hasn't made it back to Boston to discuss his options with Celtics president Danny Ainge and coach Doc Rivers.
O'Neal, who has missed 24 games because of issues with his surgically repaired left knee, is considering surgery. The decision hinges on how long the procedure would keep him off the floor and whether he'd be better of playing through the swelling.
Though O'Neal had hoped to have a plan in place, Ainge said he didn't expect any decisions to be made immediately.
"Nothing's going to happen right now," Ainge said. "Except determining a course of action."
Ainge said he and Rivers would likely sit down with O'Neal Wednesday to go over the next steps.
