SAN FRANCiSCO -- The Celtics are not entirely comfortable with their current roster making a deep playoff run and coach Doc Rivers made that clear Monday by declaring the club trade seekers before the Thursday deadline.

The Celtics are looking for a backup to Paul Pierce and the candidates are Cleveland's Anthony Parker, who is playing out an expiring contract, New York's Roger Mason, Washington's Josh Howard and perhaps Indiana's Dahntay Jones.

With Marquis Daniels likely out for the rest of the season with a bruised spinal cord, the Celtics need to get the 33-year-old Pierce some relief down the stretch.

"Obviously we're out there looking," Rivers said. "Like I said earlier, I don't think you should look forward to Marquis coming back any time soon. Obviously, we're out there looking but we're not just going to do something to do something. We're clearly looking. We're don't have a lot of assets to move. We'll see what happens.

"Nothing happening and Marquis didn't coming back, that'd be tough actually because of our size. We'd have a huge gap at the 3 spot. When you look at who we have to go through. The Luol Deng's, the LeBrons, Kobes, whoever, that would make it tough."

Rivers did say Semih Erden and Delonte West would practice Monday night and should play Tuesday against Golden State.
