Final, Nuggets 89-75: The Celtics go 0-for for the final 6:05, when they led 75-73 after a Paul Pierce 3-pointer. Denver ends the game on a 16-0 run and the Celtics lose their first game without Kendrick Perkins. Every starter played at least 35 minutes, except Pierce who missed time because of foul trouble.

Fourth quarter, 1:23, Nuggets 86-75: This one is over. The Celtics have been stunned by a 13-0 run late in the fourth and have had no response. They haven't scored since the 6:05 mark and when Kenyon Martin is draining 22 footers, you know the night is over. Maybe you can blame fatigue but the Celtics missed too many open shots and now they will pay for it.

Fourth quarter, 2:55, Nuggets 79-75: The Celtics had numerous chances to build on a lead but they keep coming up empty on trips and the Nuggets have scored six straight on a 3-pointer from Wilson Chandler and a conventional three-point play from Kenyon Martin.

Fourth quarter, 6:05, Celtics 75-73: Paul Pierce drains a 3-pointer to put the Celtics back up but this has been a see-saw game the entire way with 13 lead changes and 11 ties. Neither team has led by more than five points. Pierce has 17 points while Kevin Garnett has 14 points and 13 rebounds. J.R. Smith has 12 points and seven rebounds for Denver.

Fourth quarter, 8:42, Nuggets 70-68: Celtics can't avoid the Denver runs and will be in a battle down the stretch. Wilson Chandler has a team-leading 13 points off the bench while Nene has 12. Paul Pierce has 14 for the Celtics.

End of third quarter, Nuggets 61-60: Celtics held the lead most of the quarter but Denver responds with a 6-2 run to end the quarter and the Celtics offense has gone cold again. Paul Pierce has 14 points for Boston while Nene has 12 points and eight rebounds for Denver.

Third quarter, 3:13, Tied at 53: The game is getting chippy as Kenyon Martin flipped Kevin Garnett to the floor, causing some words to be exchanged. Celtics were briely ahead 52-48 but the Nuggets respond with a Nene dunk and Raymond Felton runner to even the score. Celtics are shooting 41 percent.

Third quarter, 5:59, Celtics 47-45: The Celtics are beginning to heat up but they are bllwing chances to create some space against the shabby Nuggets, who have gotten little from their new acquisitions. Glen Davis leads the Celtics with 10 points on 3-for-10 shooting while Kenyon Martin has 10 for Denver.

Halftime, Nuggets 37-36: Game is as ugly and sloppy as the score indicates. The Celtics scored 13 points in the second period on 5-for-16 shooting while Paul Pierce left with 8 minutes left with his third foul. Nene leads the Nuggets with nine points while J.R. Smith has seven off the bench.

Second quarter, 2:54, Tied at 32: The Celtics offense is porous right now but they are staying in the game with defense. Paul Pierce has an early 3-pointer and that's about it while Ray Allen has two points in 13 minutes. Kevin Garnett already has eight points and eight rebounds.

Second quarter, 5:59, Tied at 27: A really ugly game as expected and the Celtics are 1 of 7 from the field in the quarter while Paul Pierce has three fouls and Ray Allen has two. The Nuggets are shooting 32 percent but they may have lost Kenyon Martin, who left the game with a sickness.

Second quarter, 8:23, Celtics 26-23: Boston is hanging on despite just nine players, one of them a D-Leaguer on a 10-day contract. The defense has been stellar, holding the Nuggets to 30 percent shooting. The Celtics are at 37 percent but have just five total points from Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

End of first quarter, Celtics 23-18: A good defensive quarter for these short-handed Celtics, who led most of the period and turned the Denver Nuggets into jump shooters. Denver shot 32 percent in that period while the Celtics committed just one turnover and got four points from newcomer Chris Johnson, wearing number 86.

First quarter, 1:30, Celtics 19-18: The Celtics are trying to regain some normalcy after the big trade and have already played Chris Johnson, who is wearing Semih Erden's number and scored his first basket within a minute. Kevin Garnett has six points for Boston, which started Glen Davis at center.
