End of game, Celtics, 101-90: Kevin Garnett scored 23 points and the Celtics shot 64 percent from the field.

Fourth quarter, 5:50, Celtics, 90-79: The Celtics were shooting 64.3 percent from the field (36 for 56) and appeared on the verge of wrapping things up.

Fourth quarter, 8:55, Celtics, 84-73: Charlie Villanueva scored five points in a 40-second span, the Celtics calling timeout.

End of third quarter, Celtics, 82-66 : Paul Pierce finally missed a shot -- he was 7 for 8 from the field. But the Celtics dominated, closing the quarter with a 15-2 run over the final 4:50.

Third quarter, 4:01, Celtics, 74-64: Paul Pierce hit a 3-pointer with :03 on the shot clock, dunked off a steal, then Glen Davis hit a jumper in a 48-second span.

Third quarter, 5:56, Celtics, 67-60: A Kevin Garnett three-point play and 3-pointers from Paul Pierce and Ray Allen led the way on a Celtic 12-4 rally over a 2:20 span.

Start of second half, Celtics, 49-48: The Celtics announced Shaquille O'Neal (calf) will not return for the second half.

End of first half, Celtics, 49-48: The Pistons closed the half with a 9-0 run over the final 1:47 of play. Paul Pierce scored 14 points, but the Celtics went scoreless after Pierce's 3-pointer with 2:15 to go.

Second quarter, Celtics, 44-39: Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce converted dunks during an 8-3 run over an 89-second span as the Celtics got their running game going.

Second quarter, 4:12,Celtics, 40-39: Shaquille O'Neal's injury was diagnosed as a right calf strain. O'Neal's status for returning to the game had not been determined.

Second quarter, 5:29, tied, 36-36: Glen Davis' banked hook shot gave the Celtics a four-point advantage, capping a 10-3 run over 5:34 period spanning the quarters. But Charlie Villanueva and Tracy McGrady retaliated to tie it.

Second quarter, 8:39, Celtics 30-29: Jermaine O'Neal's hook shot gave the Celtics the lead 2:52 into the quarter, then Glen Davis drew a foul with a drive against Austin Daye, just before a timeout was called.

Second quarter, 11:49, Pistons 29-26: Shaquille O'Neal limped off the court as the Celtics called a 20-second timeout. Jermaine O'Neal entered the lineup.

End of first quarter, Pistons 29-26: Shaquille O'Neal went 4:40 of the quarter, scoring six points, in his first appearance since February. Tayshaun Prince closed out a 13-point quarter with four foul shots in the final 49 seconds.

First quarter, 2:47, Celtics 24-23: Celtics are playing solid defense except against Tayshaun Prince, who already has three 3-pointers. Six Celtics have scored, including Shaquille O'Neal, who has four points in three minutes.
