Pierce, Allen, Rondo banged up for Celtics

MIAMI -- Paul Pierce said after the game that he has a strained left Achilles tendon. Pierce's injury was initially described by the team as a strained left foot. Pierce left the game with 5:05 remaining in the first quarter and went to the Celtics locker room for evaluation. He later returned to the game and finished with 13 points and 5 rebounds.

Pierce isn't the only injured Celtic. Guard Ray Allen suffered a bruised chest after taking al elbow from LeBron James at the 2:55 mark in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Rajon Rondo played tonight's game with a bad back, according to Celtics coach Doc Rivers.

"I don't know why it was bothering him." said Rivers. "But it was bothering him this morning. It was bothering him throughout the game, too, and at one point he was asking to come out because it got tight. It was at the beginning of the fourth quarter. He needed to come out.

Rondo played a team-leading 41 minutes for the Celtics.
