After being unable to address the lockout situation for five months, Celtics co-owner Wyc Grousbeck released a statement to the Globe after the players and owners reached a tentative agreement.

"The tentative agreement is great news for our fans, players and our organization. We are very hopeful the NBA will be back on the court on Christmas Day," said Grousbeck.

Free agency and training camp begins Dec. 9 and the Celtics are scheduled to open the season Dec. 25 against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
