The Celtics have reached out this week to free-agent forward Reggie Evans, a rugged rebounder who may draw major interest because of his defensive skills.
On Monday, teams could begin directly contacting free agents and Evans confirmed to the Globe that the club talked with him, but there is no visit to Boston scheduled. Evans has been hampered by injuries the past two seasons but grabbed 11.5 rebounds in just 26.6 minutes per game with Toronto last season.
Evans has been limited to 58 games over the past two years because of injuries to each foot, both sustained against the Celtics. He was able to return last season after missing 2 1/2 months with a broken right foot, averaging nearly 11 rebounds per game in 15 games.
