CLEVELAND -- Paul Pierce expressed disappointment and anger that he was held out of Sunday's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers until 3 minutes left in the game. Doc Rivers said he will let Pierce's words dissolve with that game.

"We were up 11, 12 and he had probably still played 33, 34 minutes," Rivers said. "If Paul was 25, he would have been in. But he knows what I'm going to do and he likes it most of the time but when you lose no one likes it. So I don't think it's a big deal."

Rivers said he doesn't feel the need to talk with Pierce.

"It's not something I need to have a conversation about," he said. "I'll let you guys (the media) do all that. I'm sure you will."
