Welcome to TD Garden, where the Celtics (4-4) will face the defending champion Mavericks (5-5) at 8 p.m. Note the late start time for national television.

Should be a lovefest in here for Delonte West tonight, and the former Celtics guard should start at the point for Dallas with Jason Kidd injured. Just had a discussion with CSNNE's Jessica Camerato on the level of the ovations for West, Kendrick Perkins, and Glen Davis in their respective returns, and we both agreed that the order -- from loudest to softest -- would be Perkins, West, Davis. Delonte was well-liked here for playing hard much in the same way Perkins was.

The big issue the Celtics will obviously need to contend with tonight is Dirk Nowitzki. The Celtics don't start anyone who can guard him, and Brandon Bass would appear to get the assignment off the bench. Will be interesting to see if Dallas goes right to Dirk with Kevin Garnett on him early in the game.

This should be a tough test for the Celtics, but it might also be the easiest of their next four games. No pressure or anything.
