CHICAGO -- Kevin Garnett declared himself healthy enough to play tonight against the Chicago Bulls after missing Wednesday's loss to the Detroit Pistons with a sore left hip flexor. Garnett was in the starting lineup and let coach Doc Rivers know at the airport in Boston late Wednesday that he wanted to play tonight.

Meanwhile, Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said his MVP point guard was making progress, Derrick Rose was held out of tonight's game with the Celtics with a sore back. Rose also missed the Celtics' 95-91 win over the Bulls on Sunday with back issues. Thibodeau said Rose worked out this morning and looked better but not good enough to return.
