Derrick Rose participated in today's Chicago Bulls' shootaround today at the team's training facility and said he will determine whether he will return after a nine-game absence with a strained groin on his pre-game workout. Rose told reporters he's close to coming back and if he does not play tonight against the Celtics, he would return Sunday against the New York Knicks.

Rose has missed the past 11 games for Chicago. The team signed veteran Mike James, who made a big impact in the teams' last meeting in Chicago, for the rest of the season.
