Final: Celtics 115, Heat 107

Final: Celtics 115-107: The Celtics play good enough defense to hold on and limit Wade to 4 points in the second half. Pierce led the Celtics with 27 points and Garnett added 24, including 10 in the fourth quarter. James led all scorers with 36 points.

Fourth quarter, 1:01, Celtics 113-105: The Heat cut the lead to 108-103 with 2:22 left but Garnett drained a jumper and Pierce drove for a difficult layup and the Celtics have a nice lead, but it isn't over yet. Heat ball.

Fourth quarter, 2:34, Celtics 108-101: This one is not over. The Celtics haven't scored since the 4:47 mark and Miami has quietly run off 5 straight points and the Heat have the ball after a 24-second shot clock violation by the Celtics. The Celtics are also out of fouls, so the Heat do have life.

Fourth quarter, 5:18, Celtics 104-94: Boston is fighting to keep this lead and it is countering every Miami run with one of its own. The Heat are getting frustrated with the officiating and Wade just received a technical for arguing a foul call on Rondo.

Fourth quarter, 6:16, Celtics 102-92: Garnett has made his presence felt here and canned four straight jumpers as the Celtics attempt to steal a win in South Florida. It will be tough. James has 30 points.

End of third quarter, Celtics 89-81: James is singlehandedly keeping the Heat in the game with 29 points. He scored the last 4 of the period and the Celtics had no answer.

Third quarter, 1;50, Celtics 88-77: Rondo has 9 points in the quarter (16 for the game) and his jumper just extended the lead to 11. Rondo also has 12 assists, his 18th consecutive game with at least 10.

Third quarter, 6:53, Celtics 76-66: After the Celtics scored the first two buckets of the half, the Heat responded with a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 5. Rondo has scored 7 straight points as the Celtics extend their lead to 10. Rondo has 14 points and eight assists.

Halftime, Celtics 65-57: Heat end the half on an 11-4 run as James hits a 3-pointer at the buzzer. The Heat converted 13 of 22 shots in the second quarter and the Celtics have committed seven turnovers, resulting in 12 Miami points. James has 18 points and Wade 16. The rest of the Heat are 9 for 22 shooting. But the Heat hit five 3-pointers in the second quarter, fueling their run.

Second quarter, 2:05, Celtics 61-46: The Celtics storm back after the Heat cut the deficit to 54-46. Pierce drains his second 3-pointer during a 7-0 run.

Second quarter, 4:12, Celtics 54-44: Celtics led, 49-31, but the Heat are forcing turnovers and the Celtics are beginning to miss shots. Miami is 4 of 7 from the 3-point line and Mike Miller hit an uncontested 3-pointer, which is a defensive no-no. Dwyane Wade has 14 for Miami and James 12. Garnett has 12 points and five rebounds for the Celtics.

Second quarter, 9:51, Celtics 42-27: This stunning display continues for the Celtics, who are simply beating up the Heat with their precision offense and strong defense. Also, they have outrebounded Miami, 14-5, another shocking development. Kevin Garnett has 8 points in eight minutes while Sasha Pavlovic has come off the bench to hit a 3-pointer.

End of first quarter, Celtics 33-22: The Celtics end the quarter on a 16-2 run as they shoot 61.1 percent and get points from seven players. Rajon Rondo (five assists) is controlling the pace and he just drained a pull-up 3-pointer for the 11-point lead. Brandon Bass has five rebounds.

First quarter, 4:21, Heat 20-17: The Celtics went on a 10-0 run and led, 17-13, after a Paul Pierce layup. But the Heat have responded with 7 straight points, the last 5 off Celtics turnovers. Doc Rivers stresses not to save bad passes because that leads to Miami fastbreaks. LeBron James has 8 points for the Heat. Pierce has 4.

First quarter, 8:51, Heat 9-5: Celtics off to a slow start but Avery Bradley just made a streaking dunk to give the Celtics some momentum. Bradley has all 5 of Boston's points.
