ATLANTA -- Ray Allen was ruled out of tonight's Game 2 against the Hawks because of bone spurs in his right ankle, adding to the growing speculation that Allen may be done for the playoffs. It's been three weeks (April 10) since Allen last played a game and he was not able to finish his pre-game regimen again today.
Allen has now missed 11 games because of the right ankle, but the injury is still considered day-to-day. Avery Bradley will start at point guard for the suspended Rajon Rondo while Mickael Pietrus will start at shooting guard.
Rivers appears to be out of answers when it comes to Allen's status. The coach said Allen felt good Monday but could barely walk today.
"It's frustrating honestly, it's frustrating for him far more than us, I am just going to make that clear," he said. "We just don't know what to do. He looked great (Monday) off the court running and shooting so we were almost positive and today he couldn't walk much. He couldn't even do his shooting before the game today. So we're kind of lost at what to do so we're just going to keep on seeing what we can do."
