Ray Allen and Paul Pierce are both active tonight for the Celtics despite ankle and knee injuries. Allen did not participate in the team's shootaround today. He told reporters he was frustrated with his injury but would continue to work through it.

Pierce told Doc Rivers he felt better today.

"They know what the situation is, and they just want to play," said Rivers. "We need them, obviously."

Rivers said he was very surprised at the early schedule of this series. The first four games of the series are played with one off day in between.

"You couldn't have prescribed a worse solution for us," said Rivers.
